Taking It BACK To The Streets!!

unnamed (4)

As God’s plan often looks quite different from ours, Solomon’s Porch is about to take off on a whole new adventure! Though your financial support to help us find a ministry center, we have paid cash for and are awaiting delivery, of a 32 ft. commercial kitchen trailer, originally designed for disaster relief. This allows us to GO MOBILE and set Solomon’s Porch up under bridges, in parks, near homeless camps or wherever we need to be – just like we did when we started in 2004. We will be a “church under the bridge” – feeding the body and nourishing the soul – feeding, clothing, discipling, teaching and as always, loving.

On an ongoing weekly basis, we still need lots of volunteers, donations of clothing and supplies, cooks, worship teams and more as this new avenue for ministry opens up. We are already in the processes of being approved for disaster relief here in the North Texas area. Stay tuned for more information on that.

Our immediate needs to get the Solomon’s Porch fully functioning out there under the bridge are following:

  • A 3/4 ton pickup truck with gooseneck hitch
  • 100 folding chairs
  • 17 – 6′ plastic folding tables
  • Portable outdoor sound system
  • 2 port-a-potties mounted on a flat bed trailer
  • Signage for the trailer – estimate for a full wrap $3,500
  • Any help is appreciated! The trailer will be delivered to us in Dallas in less than 2 weeks – we will no longer be able to hold Solomon’s Porch at World Impact, our current ministry location, after February 27. God’s timing is perfect!

We thank Him for being the God of the hallway. As one door closed, and other doors presented themselves, He led us by His divine grace to the right door.

Clean Out Your Closet!!

We have an ongoing need for gently used men’s clothing. If you can help, it would be very much appreciated. Drop off at Urban Relics (3927 Main St. Dallas) or at Solomon’s Porch.

Spare Change Saturdays

We have all heard this question. You may have been at the gas station or coming out of the grocery store, but chances are you have been asked for spare change. Now, that spare change can be used by those who are helping the homeless every day. Spare Change Saturday began at Solomon’s Porch Outreach on January 3, 2015, and continues each Saturday afterwards. Check cupholder in your car, change jar or dresser…and bring your change, or dollars, to us.

Blessings,
